Terrible experience from the front desk through the moment I left and went to MSU Starkville MS. Poor communication with my primary veterinarian, focus on telling me how busy they are, referral wait times, cost. Not looking at the referral placed in their portal for diagnosis notes, etc. Time was very important and that was not a concern to them at all. I left went to MSU Starkville, MS, where my dog was met with a neurology team- after hours. I encourage you to go to Auburn AL or Starkville MS ( experts) rather than waste precious time at this facility. I AM SURE THEY WILL RESPOND TO THIS REVIEW WITH THEIR USUAL STANDARD RESPONSE, MISSION STATEMENT AND EXCUSES. My experience was awful and I am entitled to my opinion. It was a complete waste of precious time. And my dog suffered because of the lack of care.
Upon reading the terrible reviews I came across this response from them regarding another pet…… Our emergency team uses a triage-based process, so patients are prioritized by medical urgency rather than arrival order. This means wait times can vary, especially when more critical emergencies are being treated. That said, we understand that waiting is difficult, and we recognize that clearer updates and communication about available comfort options would have improved your experience…….. hmmmm, that certainly wasn’t my experience in my pets critical situation even with my vet calling and going through your portal an hour and a half prior to our arrival for admission.
Below you will find a canned response which is completely inaccurate. When my Vet REFFERRED me to your facility, I was present when she spoke to your admissions, she took notes, handed them to me and entered the referral into your portal. I wasted valuable time at your facility. Upon arrival we were told about the 9 people in front of us, didn’t have a referral, and how busy your facility always is. While in the waiting room, a technician came and told me my dog had sensation in his hind legs. . I told her my vet said he had NONE. She then took him into a room and came back COMFIRMING he indeed lacked any sensation. This was after an hour of waiting. We were then taken into a room and left there until we FINALLY left an hour later. In all I wasted 7 hours driving to Huntsville then over to Starkville, MS. TIME was extremely important for recovery in my dog’s situation. My vet knew that, Mississippi State knew that but somehow your “ emergency specialists” did not. THANK GOD for Mississippi State Veterinary School of Medicine. I deeply regret not going there to begin with. I don’t need to discuss anything with you. I am quite clear and will NEVER recommend. Interestingly, I have since heard similar experiences from friends who ended up in Nashville,, Auburn and Starkville after wasting time with Huntsville Emergency Vet.
I brought my dog in for a blockage in his bladder , they were incredibly nice and very reassuring with everything they did they thoroughly explained everything to me even after asking several questions they were patient and eventually he was able to be catheterized and pass his urine until I can take him to his primary vet tmw for surgery. Ofc they are an emergency vets office so be expecting to wait but they will help you !! I’m so very grateful to the kind receptionist’s and vets that were working on my sweet boy today . I recommend this place 100%. Also they were amazing with pricing 🙏🏻🩵
